Before you begin your upload, please keep in mind that many photo apps require that pics don't exceed a specific size. If your follow the steps below and get an error, you may want to consider running a batch photo resize on your pics prior to proceeding with the upload. - Log into your Joomla administrator
- Go to components | JoomGallery | Category Manager

Create a new category. The name and alias should be the same. Leave all else empty.
Note: You can come back to the category after the pictures are loaded to pick a specific picture to display for the category. Otherwise it will show a random picture each time the page is reloaded.

Select Java Upload from the JoomGallery menu. The first time you do this, you may be prompted to install the JUpload plugin. Choose Run.
Then follow these steps:
a. Select category for photos (the category you created above).
b. Type a generic title (ie. Baby Shower Pics June 2009). Use the same title for the alias. Leave other fields blank.
c. Select browse and locate your photos on your local system. Highlight all the files to be uploaded amd click open.
d. Click upload and your photos will start the upload process. Depending on size and quantity this may take a few minutes. There will be a popup letting you know the photos have been uploaded.
That's It! You're done.
